MasterRoc SLF 543
High performance foaming agent polymer modified for difficult cohesive grounds with ten-dency for clogging, readily biodegradable for tunnel boring machines (TBM) applications
Material Description
MasterRoc SLF 543 is a high-performance foaming agent specially designed to improve the performance and control of silt to sandy soils with clay and clogging issues. It features improved foam stability and is based on biodegradable raw materials. Enhanced foam properties are critical for maintaining proper earth pressure control and minimizing surface settlement risks. The specially selected anti-clogging polymer effectively reduces adhesion and clogging potential of clay-containing soils on TBM equipment. MasterRoc SLF 543 is suitable for use across a wide temperature range.
Areas of Application
MasterRoc SLF 543 produces a highly stable fine foam that holds face pressure and maintains the rheology of excavated ground longer than conventional foaming agents.
Compatible with standard foam generators installed on EPB machines
Can be injected at the cutterhead, into the working chamber, and along the screw conveyor
Characteristics and Benefits
High foaming capacity allows work with high FER values without foam collapse compared to standard foaming agents
Lower FIR values achieve desired soil rheology more efficiently
Improved face excavation support pressure and control
Enhanced TBM excavation cycle time, quality, and cost efficiency
Facilitated muck extraction from tunnel and muck pit areas
Improved overall tunnel performance and reduced excavation time
Reduced TBM maintenance costs
Optimized muck logistics outside the job site
Minimized over-excavation and contractual disputes
Reduced risk of surface settlement
Lower clogging and adhesion effects on the cutterhead
