Eliminating Surface Voids in Off-Form Concrete
All to often, concrete voids are the result of entrapped air bubbles which have failed to rise to the surface of a slab or formwork. The voids can significantly weaken a concrete structure, so it is important to prevent or repair these issues before they escalate.
CAUSE:
Surface voids and defects are most common in low water:cement ratio concretes as well as vertical concrete surfaces. One of the main causes of bug holes in concrete is improper vibration. Generally, the vigorous shaking of the vibration process removes air pockets and increases density and structure in the concrete, but when done incorrectly, air bubbles are entrapped under the surface.
. This ready-to-use, water-based admixture solution possesses excellent form release properties and is suitable for wood, metal and polyester as well as cement. This not only reduces surface voids and defects, but also improves the overall durability of the concrete structure.
, a concrete-grey coloured mortar. The formula is based on hydraulic binders and high-grade quartz sands that have been modified with synthetic polymers which allows for strong adhesion, quick application and long-term durability. MasterEmaco N 5100 contains no chlorides or other salts that may cause corrosion or efflorescence (blooming).
