MasterFiber: Reinforcement Solutions For Enhanced Concrete Durability

What is MasterFiber Reinforcement?
MasterFiber reinforcement in concrete is the use of fiber materials to improve the performance and long-term service life of concrete. These fibers are added to the concrete mixture to enhance its mechanical properties and durability. MasterFiber helps control cracking due to plastic and drying shrinkage, increases abrasion and impact resistance, and improves concrete’s overall toughness.
Benefits of MasterFiber Reinforcement?
Crack Control: MasterFiber products help to distribute loads more evenly and prevent the formation of micro-cracks. They can also control the width of cracks that do form.
Increased Durability: Reinforced concrete with MasterFiber is more resistant to impact, abrasion, and spalling, leading to a longer service life.
Improved Toughness: The addition of MasterFiber enhances the energy absorption capacity of concrete, making it more resilient under dynamic loads.
Speed of Construction: The use of MasterFiber eliminates the installation time required when using conventional secondary reinforcement such as light gauge bar and welded wire reinforcement.
Types of MasterFiber Reinforcement?
Synthetic Monofilament Microfibers: MasterFiber monofilament microfibers have a diameter less than 0.3 mm. They are used for plastic shrinkage crack control and for anti-spalling protection during a fire.
Synthetic Fibrillated Microfibers: MasterFiber fibrillated microfibers have a diameter less than 0.3 mm. They are used for plastic shrinkage and plastic settlement crack control. MasterFiber fibrillated fibers are also used in place of light gauge welded wire reinforcement (6x6 W1.4/W1.4) for temperature and drying shrinkage crack control.
Synthetic Macrofibers: MasterFiber macrofibers have a diameter greater than 0.3 mm and are an effective solution for enhancing the performance and durability of concrete in a variety of applications. They provide significant benefits in terms of crack control, toughness, and durability, making them a valuable addition to modern concrete technology. MasterFiber macrofibers can be used as temperature and shrinkage reinforcement in place of light gauge bar and welded wire reinforcement.
Steel Fiber: MasterFiber steel fibers meet the requirements of ASTM A820. They are designed to provide concrete with temperature and shrinkage crack control, improved shear strength and flexural toughness. MasterFiber steel fibers provide engineers flexibility in concrete reinforcement design and reduce in place reinforcement cost versus light gauge bar and welded wire reinforcement for temperature and shrinkage crack control.
