This shift to biodegradable packaging will prevent approximately 600,000 bags from entering landfills each year, significantly reducing our environmental impact. Our new bags are not only fully recyclable but also compostable within just 12 weeks, offering enhanced moisture resistance that extends the shelf life of our products.
Innovative Two-Layer Design for Durability
Our biodegradable bags feature a unique two-layer design that sets them apart from traditional high-density plastic packaging. This advanced structure ensures the same high level of durability while eliminating the need for plastics. Additionally, full-width micro-perforations on the kraft paper layer provide superior moisture resistance, further supporting an extended shelf life and maintaining the same level of product protection that our customers have come to expect.
Uncompromised Quality and Performance
At Master Builders Solutions, we understand that packaging is critical for delivering products in optimal condition, both during transportation and storage. While our packaging supplier guaranteed a 12-week decomposition timeframe, we conducted our testing to ensure the performance lived up to these claims.
Under controlled conditions, we created a compost heap, using time-lapse technology to document the process. Every three weeks, the compost was turned and watered to maintain optimal decomposition, and we introduced live worms to replicate real outdoor composting conditions.
The results were exceptional—the bags broke down completely in just 4 weeks, well ahead of the expected timeline. We repeated the process multiple times, with consistent results.
Certified under the Australian Standard AS 4736, these bags comply with stringent requirements for biodegradability, ecotoxicity, and disintegration. Our customers can be confident that these bags deliver the same reliability and protection as traditional packaging options.
